UniSA Business School offers a Professional Certificate in Research Training. A program of four seminars (courses) with additional specialisation lectures provides a comprehensive set of formal research training seminars designed to provide scholars, students and practioners with comprehensive research methods and foundational knowledge in research training in strategy, international business and entrepreneurship research.
This short course is designed to prepare candidates to undertake research, high level consulting projects and publish reports and academics outcomes, including journal articles, and research grants in these specific fields, and will provide a comprehensive overview from the perspective of both the scholar and the teacher.
Courses and presentations delivered by highly experienced international academic experts including Professor S. Tamer Cavusgil (Georgia State University, USA), Professor Pervez Ghauri (Birmingham University, UK), Professor Kevin Zhou (University of Hong Kong, HK), Professor Leigh Anne Liu (Georgia State University, USA), distiguished visiting Professor Ian Fillis (Liverpool John Moores University, UK) Professor Susan Freeman and Professor Ying Zhu (University of South Australia, Australia). Along with the formal courses, there will also be two panel Q&A sessions with experienced researchers from UniSA, plus the opportunity to expand your network of research colleagues.
Who should attend?
Academics, doctoral candidates, masters by research and honours students and early career academics, masters by coursework level students, practitioners and consultants. Courses are open to participants from UniSA, other national and international institutions, and consultants and practitioners.

Classes are held 9:00am-5:30pm, Monday to Friday, from 9 – 20 July 2018
Structure of the course
Modules offered in the Professional Certificate include:
- Strategy and International Business Theory and International Entrepreneurship
- Qualitative Research Methods: Designing and Conducting Case Studies
- Critical Review and Model Development in Strategy, International Business and Entrepreneurship
- Cross Cultural Frameworks and Research
It will also cover the diversity of perspectives in this interdisciplinary field, and contributions from the functional SIBER business disciplines as well as related areas such as economics, anthropology and sociology.

Participants completing all four seminars will be awarded a Professional Certificate in Research Training. Participants will also receive assistance in preparing a research paper targeted for a refereed publication, industry report and/or research proposal.
The Professional Certificate in Research Training is sponsored by the Australian Centre for Asian Business (ACAB) and endorsed by the Consortium for International Marketing (CIMaR), Georgia State University Center for International Business Education and Research (GSU-CIBER), Australia and New Zealand International Business Academy (ANZIBA) and Rutgers Business Review.
Course fees and scholarship
The Professional Certificate in Research Training has course fees of $1,000 ($250 per module). Module fees will be waived for UniSA Business School students.
Australia and New Zealand International Business Academy (ANZIBA) will fund 6 scholarships of $500 for attendance open to Australian and New Zealand based PhD students to help support the certificate with criteria for selection.

Applicants will need to apply to the ANZIBA Executive for the scholarship. The criteria will be as follows:
- Applicants must be currently enrolled in a New Zealand or Australian-based PhD program.
- There will only be one scholarship per applicant per year.
- Priority will be given to ensuring that the scholarships are distributed as evenly as possible across New Zealand and the various Australian states within each year. E.g. an applicant from a region that is under-represented will be given priority over an applicant from a region that is already heavily represented.
- Applicants will need to submit a 500 word statement identifying how this program will help them, and explain any special circumstances - such as financial need - that make them a worthy candidate.
