Law Honours is a prestigious qualification available to you as a high achieving student, giving you a competitive edge in the workforce.
It enhances your skills in critical analysis, legal research and writing, all of which are highly sought after in the legal profession, and is a pathway into higher degrees by research.
You'll be mentored and supervised over the course of your Honours by one of our research academics who are specialists in their fields.

Our federally compliant program contains the following courses:
Law Honours 1: Advanced Legal Reasoning and Critical Analysis
Aimed at extending and refining your ability to deconstruct and construct complex legal arguments through reflective and critical analysis.
Law Honours 2: Academic Writing and Research
To develop and refine your skills in legal academic writing and research, with the aim of producing a literature review in advance of the Honours Thesis.
Law Honours 3: Honours Thesis
The remainder of your Honours will consist of up to four, but no less than two, level eight Honours electives, which have been developed in the following core areas:
- Public law
- Commercial law
- In areas where UniSA has a comparative distinction
Are you eligible?
- be currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Laws or Laws Double Degree
- have completed 72 units of their Bachelor’s degree
- have a GPA of not less than 5.3
Meeting the above criteria does not guarantee entry. The Honours program is competitive and spaces are limited.

If eligible, you'll receive an offer to study Law Honours during your degree. The Honours program is by invitation only and should you wish to accept your offer, you'll need to make an application before the study period in which you wish to commence the Honours program.
